Pitaka MagEZ AirPods Case | Design, Protection, and Luxury
A little backstory (feel free to skip): I recently got AirPods Pro 2 as a gift for my birthday, a nice update to my music gear, and I am still testing it more for all the features. The music pops out well; it has noise cancellation and transparency modes and some added features that make it stand out. However, there is one thing that you all might agree with, and it is keeping your white case clean.
So, I checked out Amazon for all the cases and got a few of them. It turns out they are made out of plastic and poor-quality silicon rubber, and a few of them also came off with my keys scratching against the case. Honestly, I couldn’t take the risk of dropping them for a drop test.
Then enters the Pitaka MagEZ AirPods Case, and though it is a little more expensive than regular cases, it is all worth the price and adds luxury to your gear.
1. Texture That Makes you Feel Luxury
When I first got my hands on the Pitaka MagEZ AirPods Pro Case, one of the things I liked the most was the texture and the feel. There are going to be a lot of times you are going to hold your AirPods case, drop in or remove those AirPods, and the glossy white only makes your fingers feel like butter.
With Pitaka MagEZ AirPods Pro Case, one thing is for sure: the silk texture feels more luxurious when you hold your case. However, though it feels like silk, it is only a reference to the softness of the Aramid fiber on the top.
I wouldn’t say it feels more casual; instead, it is something you would take to a business meeting, to an office, or even to a party; the use cases are contrasting, and Pitaka only blends in well.
2. Strong Case for your AirPods
Pitaka MagEZ Cases are all made up of either Aramid or carbon fiber, and in the case of AirPods, Pitaka uses Aramid, which is known to be strong. Most times, you might find some premium cases made of leather, and a few are made of plastic and silicon, which are not so durable. On the other hand, MagEZ cases on AirPods are a new perspective to AirPods cases introduced by Pitaka, and they do give a premium and luxury feel alongside shock-proof protection.
There are a lot of advantages to using Aramid fiber; some of its properties make it an ideal choice for creating accessories for your everyday gadgets. Here are some of the reasons to get Aramid fiber accessories,
- Aramid fiber is lightweight in nature and an ideal choice for everyday accessories.
- This fiber can handle hot temperatures, making it an ideal option for phone and gadget accessories.
- Aramid fiber, along with some other materials, is used in bulletproof vests.
- High chemical resistance ensures the cases and covers are safe from liquid drops.
- Despite being strong and durable, Aramid Fiber can easily be used to twist and turn and can be used in materials like ropes and cables.
- Aramid Fiber is durable and commonly found in aerospace materials and racing cars.
Pitaka uses most of these properties of Aramid Fiber and uses innovative fusion weaving to create stunning, premium, durable, and better cases for your iPhone, MagSafe, and other Apple accessories.

3. Design and Style
Apple AirPods sound good, but let me be straightforward and tell you they don’t innovate much on their AirPods design. It’s been several years since the glossy white box that marks easy scratches.
The MagEZ AirPods case offers varying styles, and though these are still limited, they are enough to stand out in most scenarios. I personally love the all-black/grey AirPods case, which gives me a feeling of Venom from the Venom movie, especially when you open up the lid. However, there are also some more designs, like the 600D Rhapsody and 1500D Movement, that give a luxury style to your AirPods.
Also, well done on the precise cutout, which makes the MagEZ case a perfect fit for your AirPods. There are also cutouts for the lanyard loop, USB cable, speaker, and charging indication so your AirPods fit in well and the case is not troubling you.
The design includes fusion weaving of multiple Aramid fiber strands that give you a 3D touch feeling and allow you to sense the smooth weaving.
I am not much of a fan of unnecessary innovation, but at times, though a little out of the way, they do make sense. For instance, having a power bank for your AirPods. Pitaka offers that, too, and I am a little confused about whether it is useful or if it could have been better, as it compromises the entire design.
Introducing Air Pal, a power bank built-in on your MagEZ AirPods case. It works just like any other power bank but for AirPods and features the same Aramid fiber body. So, in this case, you don’t have to carry a wireless charger; instead, drop your AirPods case in the Pitaka AirPal case, and they will start charging without having you plug in.
4. MagEZ Compatibility
Most of the accessories on Pitaka are MagSafe compatible. This means you can wear that skin on your AirPods, iPhone, and Apple Watch and place it on your MagSafe-compatible charger and still get your devices charged without any disturbances.
At the back of this case, there are magnets perfectly aligned to the actual magnets on your AirPods, which dictates the level of precision made in design. I tested it on a few MagSafe wireless charging pads and docks, and they seem to work fairly the same way.
However, it is important to note that you wouldn’t want to charge your AirPods with MagSafe each time. This is because MagSafe or wireless charging is slow in comparison to wired charging from a USB lightning cable or even USB-C with newer AirPods.
MagEZ Slider 2
Check out the MagEZ Slider 2, one of Pitaka’s best accessories for charging your iPhone, Apple Watch, and AirPods at once. The dock features a Magsafe battery pack that you can carry on the go, and it magnetically attaches to your iPhone’s back, just like Apple’s MagSafe.
5. Water Splashes: Are My AirPods Water Resistant Now?
After using it for a little over a week, I noticed there were visible oil stains and dust on my MagEZ AirPods case, and it was natural because of my dusty neighborhood. It is something that I don’t like about my accessories; oil and dust are a big no for me, which is also why I started looking for a case for my AirPods in the first place.
One thing about AirPods is the case is not water-resistant. Yes, the AirPods can bear a few splashes and sweat, but not immersed in the washer or a pool. I doubt if they would last for long if you are running in the rain without an umbrella. So, cleaning is definitely a big issue for me.
With oil stains and dust on Pitaka’s MagEZ case for AirPods, I thought of first using a microfiber cloth to remove the dust, and to my surprise, a little rub took away the oil stains, too. For deeper cleaning, I wet one of the ends of the microfiber cloth, wrung it, and gently rubbed it on the surface, and it shone like new. This is something I have loved about the Aramid fiber with other Pitaka products, too, such as the iPad and iPhone cases.

What’s Inside the Box?
I am not much of an unboxing person, but it does feel special to open a new box for your favorite accessory. In the case of Pitaka, they are always special with how they package their accessories. For instance, the iPhone cases you get with Pitaka actually come in a box made out of sugarcane waste. Like bigger global brands, Pitaka aims for smaller carbon footprints and more eco-friendly productions in the near future.
For the AirPods MagEZ case, Pitaka still uses an MDF box, and I am only hoping to see the sugarcane boxes making their way in. There isn’t much inside; you will find your favorite Pitaka MagEZ AirPods case, documentation paper, and a product catalog.

How Do You Install the MagEZ Case on Your AirPods?
While there is a guide in the documentation paper regarding how to install the MagEZ case on your AirPods, let me make it easier for you as you read this guide.
When you receive your Pitaka MagEZ AirPods Case, you will find the box to be sealed with a Pitaka label. Ensure this label is intact when you receive the product, and there is no sign of tampering, which is usually the case with fake products.
Open the box, and you can find the MagEZ AirPods case in it, but before you pick it up, take a microfiber cloth to clean the outer surface of your AirPods case. Do not use any cleaning liquid or even water, as your actual Apple AirPods case is not water-resistant. A simple microfiber cloth cleaning should do.
Pick up your AirPods Pro and slide it into the bottom part of your MagEZ AirPods case. It should easily fit in, and a gentle press from all sides will help your AirPods fit in place.
Inside the top lid of your AirPods case, you can find a peelable sticker that actually has adhesive under it. It is necessary to peel the sticker to ensure your AirPods fit securely under the case. Once done, gently press the top and all the sides to ensure the case is perfectly fit. Don’t worry; you don’t have to do it each time or frequently; it’s only during the installation of the case.
That’s it. Attach a lanyard loop if you wish to, and throw your AirPods in your backpack without having to worry much about securely carrying it. And, of course, with a style.

Wrapping up: Pitaka AirPods Pro Case Review
This pretty much sums up my review of Pitaka AirPods Pro Case review, and even if you are using a different version of AirPods, you can find a case for it on Pitaka. The Aramid fiber ensures good protection for your AirPods while it feels luxurious to carry. The touch is remarkably soft like silk, and it is due to the soft texture of Aramid fiber and fusion weaving that makes it possible.
Of course, the MagEZ case is a little pricy and not much of a budget-friendly option. But in my opinion, for all the features and protection it offers to your AirPods, it is a totally worth investment. You can look at cheaper alternatives, but I am sure it will be rare to find anything similar to what Pitaka offers.
